If you are anything like me staying organized in your research is one of the most challenging things about genealogy! Though it is difficult, it is also SO important.
You might develop one system, use it for a little while, and then decide it isn’t working for you. If I had a dollar for every organizational system I have abandoned, I would be one very rich lady!
As you expand your research you will find that the box that once held all your genealogy information may be overflowing.
This is the time to find a new organizational system.
One that can grow and expand with your research. There is nothing worse than putting a ton of time and effort into creating a system that is going to fail a few months down the road.
I know! I’ve been there, done that, and don’t want to go back!
That is one of the reasons I created this site. To save you the time sucking leach of trial and error.
Because once you find the right system genealogy becomes enjoyable again! How many times have you been doing a search and you come across a record with information that you know to be incorrect? You know it’s incorrect because in your tree you have the information saved but no citation, and for the life of you, you can not remember what you did with the original record.
Now imagine when that conflicting record pops up (because you know it will) knowing the exact file folder it is in and retrieving it in less than 30 seconds. Sounds nice huh?
